What does this fault code mean?
The ECM monitors the fuel flow control valve and how it works. The fault is set when the PWM signal that controls the valve is incorrect, and the fault concerns a signal that is too low.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to ground
- Damaged fuel flow control valve
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the fuel flow control valve is not shorted to ground
- 3Look at the connector to the fuel flow control valve for oxidation and loose connections
- 4Check that the fuses are intact. Fuse locations are shown in the owner's manual
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the fuel flow control valve with diagnostic equipment
Symptoms you may notice3
- The engine stalls or will not start
- The car feels poor to drive, with reduced performance and lack of power
- The car hesitates, surges or runs jerkily
