What does this fault code mean?
The ECM sets injection duration and timing by driving the injectors, and stores the code when the signal to the injector for cylinder 6 is too high. The code is general and does not say what type of fault it is. It applies to cylinder 6 only.
Possible causes
- Signal wire short-circuited to supply voltage
- Damaged injector
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and test drive to see whether it returns
- 2With the ignition on and the connector disconnected, use a multimeter to check whether the cylinder 6 signal wire has voltage to ground
- 3Check the connector to the cylinder 6 injector for contact resistance and oxidation
- 4Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the injector for cylinder 6 and its control
