What does this fault code mean?
The fault concerns ignition coil C, and the signal wire to the coil is shorted to supply voltage. The code is stored when the incorrect value lasts longer than a set time and stays over several driving cycles in a row.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance and oxidation in the connections
- Signal wire short circuit to supply voltage
- Damaged ignition coil
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool, start the engine and read the fault status. 'Fault found' means the fault is permanent.
- 2Check that the fuses are intact.
- 3With the ignition off, check that the connector at ignition coil C is secure and free from contact resistance and oxidation.
- 4Check that the signal wire to ignition coil C is not pinched or chafed in a way that could let it touch a live supply wire.
- 5Check that the ignition coil is secure and not damaged.
- 6If the fault returns, have a workshop measure at ignition coil C and its signal wire.
