What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) compares the fuel pressure reported by the pressure sensors in the injectors. The fault is set when the pressure sensor in the injector for cylinder 1 shows a different value from the other three. The fault therefore concerns that sensor specifically.
Possible causes
- Pressure sensor in the injector for cylinder 1 is faulty
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fuel pressure from the sensor for cylinder 1 and check that it agrees with the other three with the engine at idle
- 2Check that the connector to the injector for cylinder 1 is secure and not oxidised
- 3Check that the wire to the injector for cylinder 1 is not chafed or pinched
- 4Read and clear the fault code, then road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the pressure sensor in the injector for cylinder 1
Symptoms you may notice1
- The Check engine (malfunction indicator) light comes on or behaves abnormally
