What does this fault code mean?
The ECM compares the readings from the injector pressure sensors with each other. When the sensor for cylinder 3 shows a different value from the other three, the fault is set. The fault is linked to that sensor only.
Possible causes
- Pressure sensor in the injector for cylinder 3 is faulty
What you can do
- 1Read the pressure sensor for cylinder 3 with a diagnostic tool and compare the value with the other three with the engine running
- 2Check that the connectors at the injector for cylinder 3 are firm and free from corrosion
- 3Check that the harness to the injector for cylinder 3 is not chafed
- 4Read and clear the fault code and check whether it returns on a road test
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the pressure sensor in the injector for cylinder 3
Symptoms you may notice1
- The Check engine (malfunction indicator) light comes on or behaves abnormally
