What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) compares the pressures from the pressure sensors in the four injectors. The fault is set when the sensor for cylinder 4 shows a different value from the other three.
Possible causes
- Pressure sensor in the injector for cylinder 4 is faulty
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool, read the pressure from the injector for cylinder 4 and check that it lines up with the others with the engine running
- 2Check the connection to the injector for cylinder 4 for loose contacts and oxidation
- 3Look at the wire to the injector for cylinder 4 for chafing and pinching
- 4Read and clear the fault code, road test the car and see whether the fault returns
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop trace the pressure sensor in the injector for cylinder 4
Symptoms you may notice1
- The Check engine (malfunction indicator) light comes on or behaves abnormally
