What does this fault code mean?
The fault concerns the temperature sensor before the particle filter on bank 1 and is set when the signal from it is faulty. The code is named for a high signal, and the condition is a signal that does not follow a calculated value.
Possible causes
- Signal cable short-circuited to supply voltage
- Damaged particle filter temperature sensor
What you can do
- 1Use a multimeter to check whether the signal cable to the sensor has voltage with the ignition off
- 2Check that the connectors to the sensor are firmly seated and free from oxidation
- 3Read the fault status with a diagnostic tool, if you have one, and see whether the fault is active after the engine has started
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the temperature sensor before the particle filter
Symptoms you may notice2
- The car lacks power
- The Check engine (malfunction indicator) light comes on or behaves abnormally
What the fault can affect1
- The car goes into limp-home mode
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
