What does this fault code mean?
The fault concerns an open circuit to EVAP valve A. The ECM sets the code when it receives no signal from the valve.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the signal cable
- Damaged EVAP valve
- Contact resistance in the connections
- Open circuit in the power cable
What you can do
- 1Check the fuse for the circuit to the EVAP valve
- 2Check that the connector at the EVAP valve is clean and firmly seated
- 3Use a multimeter to check the signal wire from the control module to the EVAP valve for an open circuit
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire from the system relay to the EVAP valve has no break
- 5Have a workshop measure the resistance of the EVAP valve and judge whether the valve is damaged
Symptoms you may notice1
- The Check engine (malfunction indicator) light comes on or behaves abnormally
What the fault can affect1
- Control with two oxygen sensors is blocked
