What does this fault code mean?
The code is set when the signal from the EVAP valve is too low. The ECM reads this as the signal wire to the valve being shorted to ground.
Possible causes
- Signal cable short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1Use a multimeter to check that the EVAP valve signal wire is not shorted to ground (the body)
- 2A workshop should measure the resistance of the EVAP valve
- 3Check that the wire to the EVAP valve has not rubbed against the body
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the signal wire between the control module and the EVAP valve
Symptoms you may notice1
- The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) is lit
What the fault can affect1
- Control with two oxygen sensors is blocked
