What does this fault code mean?
The code is set when the ECM finds a very small leak in the tank system. The check is run only if the leak diagnosis unit has not already found a fault.
Possible causes
- Leak in the tank, filler pipe, filler cap, canister, EVAP valve, leak diagnosis unit or the hoses between these parts
What you can do
- 1Check that the filler cap is in place and properly tightened
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool, run a quick test of the tank system and check that it starts and moves on to the reference phase
- 3Look for moisture or traces of fuel at the connections in the tank system
- 4Check that the canister, the EVAP valve and the hoses between them are undamaged and secure
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the leak diagnosis unit and the tank system
