What does this fault code mean?
After refuelling, when the fuel level has changed, the ECM checks that the filler cap is in place. The code is set when a leak is found after filling, which is read as a missing or loose filler cap.
Possible causes
- Filler cap missing, or not screwed on tight
What you can do
- 1Check that the filler cap is in place and properly tightened after refuelling
- 2The check is made a few minutes after start while the car is held at a steady speed, so drive it and see whether the fault returns
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fault status after a quick test of the tank system
