What does this fault code mean?
The code indicates a mechanical fault where the fuel level sensor mechanism has stuck. The ECM has registered that the sensor is faulty, and most of the diagnosis is carried out in the central electronic module (CEM).
Possible causes
- The central electronic module (CEM) has registered a fault on the sensor
- The fuel level sensor is damaged or stuck
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the central electronic module (CEM) first and remedy them
- 2Start by checking the connections and wiring to the fuel level sensor
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fuel level via the CEM and see whether the value changes when the vehicle is gently rocked
- 4If the wiring and connectors are sound, the sensor is the next suspect. A workshop carries out the replacement
- 5Clear the fault code once the fault is remedied, and road test
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
