What does this fault code mean?
The fuel level sensor signal is above the allowable range. The fault concerns bus or message communication, and the ECM has registered that the sensor is faulty. Diagnosis is mainly handled by the central electronic module (CEM).
Possible causes
- The CEM has logged the fault
- Damaged fuel level sensor
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the central electronic module (CEM) and remedy them first
- 2Start by checking that the connectors to the fuel level sensor are secure and clean
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the wires to the fuel level sensor are not short-circuited to supply voltage
- 4If the wires and connectors are sound, the sensor is the next suspect, and a workshop replaces it
- 5Clear the fault code once it is remedied, then road test
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
