What does this fault code mean?
The code concerns a signal that is too low from the pump part of the fuel level sensor. The central electronic module (CEM) detects the fault and sends a fault signal to the engine control module (ECM), where the code is also set. It does not specify the cause.
Possible causes
- The cause lies in the central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fuel level via the CEM. It should be reasonable, move when the vehicle is rocked, and then settle
- 2Rock the vehicle gently and check that the level settles at a reasonable value. With a full tank the change may not be visible
- 3Look at the fuel level sensor plug: it should be secure, clean and free from oxidation
- 4If the fault remains after the plug and signal checks, have a workshop examine the fuel pump with its sensor
- 5Clear the fault code only once the fault in the CEM has been remedied, and road test
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
