What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) runs its own checks on important parameters and sets the code when it finds that the speed signal changes more slowly than expected. The fault can only be confirmed while driving under certain conditions. The code is set first in the central electronic module (CEM) and then in the ECM, so diagnosis starts there.
Possible causes
- Faulty engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in the central electronic module (CEM) first, as this code cannot be cleared until they have been repaired
- 2Repair the CEM faults by following the troubleshooting for each code
- 3Then clear the code in the ECM and road test the car, as the fault can only be confirmed while driving under certain conditions
- 4If the code returns after the CEM faults are repaired, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the ECM
Symptoms you may notice1
- The eco lamp is on
