What does this fault code mean?
This code is event-controlled, which means it is an information code and does not show a fault in the module where it is set. The ECM monitors the idle control, and the code is set when the control has been outside its limit for a certain time. The code does not require any action on its own.
Possible causes
- This code does not come from a fault that needs repair
What you can do
- 1Read the code as information. It does not need a repair in itself
- 2Check whether other fault codes are stored, and repair those first, as they may affect idle
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, look at the idle control in live data with the engine running and check whether the value is stable
- 4Check that the engine runs smoothly at idle, without jerking or uneven running
- 5If the engine runs unevenly at idle, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the idle control
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
