What does this fault code mean?
This code only records an event and does not show that the engine control module is faulty. The ECM checks the supply voltage at start. The code is set when the supply voltage stays below a set value for a set time. The cause may be low battery voltage or contact resistance in the connections.
Possible causes
- No repair is needed, as this code only records information
- Low battery voltage
- Contact resistance or oxidation in connections
What you can do
- 1Check the battery condition and that the charging system works
- 2Check the supply voltage to the starter relay and the starter motor, and that the connections from the battery positive terminal are free from oxidation
- 3Check that the starter motor and starter relay are firmly connected with no contact resistance
- 4Check that the fuses are intact
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool, read the battery voltage in live data while the engine is cranked and check that it does not drop sharply
- 6Clear the code and make a test start to see whether it returns
Symptoms you may notice1
- The engine does not start
