What does this fault code mean?
The ECM monitors the pressure in the A/C system. The code is set when the high-side sensor gives a faulty signal and the module cannot reconcile it with the pressure change it expects. The fault lies in wiring with a break or a short, a damaged sensor, or poor contact.
Possible causes
- Break in the supply voltage wire
- Supply voltage wire shorted to ground
- Break in the signal wire
- Signal wire shorted to ground
- Contact resistance or oxidation in connectors or connections
- Damaged A/C pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Check the pressure sensor connector for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the supply to the sensor has no break and is not shorted to ground
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire has no break and is not shorted to ground
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool, read the A/C pressure in live data with the engine running and see whether the value changes as the system works
- 6If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the pressure sensor
Symptoms you may notice4
- The air conditioning is not cold enough in the rear area
- The air conditioning cools slowly in the rear area
- The air conditioning is not cold enough in the front area
- The air conditioning does not work
What the fault can affect2
- The A/C pressure sensor is switched off
- The A/C compressor is switched off
