What does this fault code mean?
The ECM monitors the pressure in the A/C system. The code is set when the high-side sensor gives a faulty signal and the module cannot match it to the expected pressure change. The fault may be a signal wire shorted to supply voltage, a faulty ground wire, a damaged sensor, or poor contact.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to supply voltage
- Ground wire has a break or is shorted to supply voltage
- Damaged A/C pressure sensor
- Damaged atmospheric pressure sensor
- Contact resistance or oxidation in connectors or connections
What you can do
- 1Start the engine, switch on the A/C, let it run for a while and see whether the code is active
- 2Check the A/C pressure sensor connector for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire is not shorted to supply voltage when the ignition is off
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the ground wire to the sensor has no break and is not shorted to supply voltage
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool, read the A/C pressure in live data with the A/C on and see whether the value changes as the compressor works
- 6If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the sensor and the atmospheric pressure sensor
Symptoms you may notice3
- The air conditioning does not cool enough
- The air conditioning cools slowly in the rear area
- The air conditioning does not work
What the fault can affect1
- The A/C compressor is switched off
