What does this fault code mean?
The exhaust camshaft (B) on bank 2 is controlled by the ECM during warm-up after a cold start. The code is set when the camshaft angle sits too far forward compared with the requested position. Poor oil quality, low oil pressure, or a damaged control valve or VVT unit may be behind it.

What you can do
- 1Check the quality of the engine oil and that it is clean
- 2Have a workshop check the engine oil pressure
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, read the exhaust camshaft position for bank 2 in live data during warm-up and compare it with the requested position
- 4Clear the code and road test the car with the engine cold to see whether it returns
- 5If the code returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the control valve and the VVT unit on bank 2
