What does this fault code mean?
The ECM checks how the system relay works. The fault is stored when the module sees a weak voltage from the system relay while the relay is activated, which means the relay has stuck in the open position.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connections
- Open circuit in the signal wire to the system relay
- The system relay is damaged
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Check the connector at the system relay for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the relay has no open circuit
- 4If you have diagnostic equipment: activate the system relay and listen for a click to see whether it engages
- 5If no fault is found, have a workshop replace the system relay
