What does this fault code mean?
The ECM monitors the system voltage and sets the code when the voltage is faulty and too high. The cause may be the generator or a voltage source from outside the car, such as a battery charger.
Possible causes
- Problem with the generator
- External voltage source
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Has an external voltage source, such as a battery charger, been connected to the car?
- 3If you have diagnostic equipment: read the system voltage in live data with the engine running and see whether it is too high compared with the engine stopped
- 4If no external source has been connected, have a workshop check the generator with diagnostic equipment
