What does this fault code mean?
The code is event-based and is used as information. It therefore does not mean that the control module where it is active has a fault. The ECM checks the battery voltage, and the code is set when the conditions for the test are met.
Possible causes
- Damaged charging system
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2If you suspect the charging system is damaged, have a workshop check it
- 3If you have diagnostic equipment: read the battery voltage in live data with the engine running and see whether it changes when high-consumption functions are switched on
- 4Clear the code and road test the car to see whether it returns
