What does this fault code mean?
The CEM reads the steering wheel buttons for the cruise control and passes the information to the ECM over CAN. The code is set when the CEM has detected a fault, and then the fault information is also sent to the engine control module.
Possible causes
- The fault may lie in the central electronics module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Test the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel: check that they spring back and do not stick
- 3If you have diagnostic equipment: read the fault codes in the central electronics module (CEM) and deal with them first
- 4If none of the checks show anything, have a workshop look for the fault in the central electronics module (CEM)
Symptoms you may notice2
- Cruise control does not engage
- Cruise control does not hold the set speed and disengages
What the fault can affect1
- Cruise control is switched off while the fault is active
