What does this fault code mean?
The ECM records an internal fault while the cruise control is active, and the code is then set. The fault therefore lies in the control module itself. Cruise control is switched off for as long as the fault is active.
Possible causes
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2If you have diagnostic equipment: read the status of the code and see whether the fault is active right now
- 3Clear the code and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 4If the code comes back, the engine control module (ECM) will need replacing, and a workshop should do this
