What does this fault code mean?
This is a signal fault in the cruise control input circuit. The engine control module (ECM) runs its own checks on the cruise control function while the engine is running, and for serious faults the code is set and the cruise control is switched off.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in connectors
- Fault in the CAN network
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2If you have diagnostic equipment: read the fault status with the engine running and see whether the fault is still active
- 3Check the connectors in the cruise control circuit for contact resistance and oxidation
- 4Clear the code and road test the car. Does it come back?
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop check the CAN network
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The cruise control function does not work
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
