What does this fault code mean?
A CAN message about the cruise control from the FSM or the CEM has a checksum that does not match, and then the ECM sets the code. The code is checked while driving with the cruise control activated.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connector blades
- Fault in the CAN network
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2If you have diagnostic equipment: read the diagnostic status and fault status for the code after a safe test drive
- 3Check that the connections in the CAN network to the FSM and CEM are firmly seated and not loose
- 4Clear the code and road test the car with the cruise control switched on, to see whether it returns
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop check the CAN network
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
