What does this fault code mean?
The ECM constantly monitors the communication with the central electronics module (CEM). The code is set when the signal from the CEM is faulty, and the cruise control then does not engage.
Possible causes
- The fault may lie in the central electronics module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2If you have diagnostic equipment: read the CEM fault codes and deal with them first, then clear this code
- 3Test the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel and check that they spring back
- 4Check that the connectors to the central electronics module (CEM) are firmly seated and not corroded
- 5If nothing is found, have a workshop look for the fault in the central electronics module (CEM)
