What does this fault code mean?

The ECM controls the opening of the grille shutter through the active grille shutter module (AGM). The code is set when the movement between the shutter's end positions is too short. The shutter has to move between open and closed before the fault can be detected, and the fault does not necessarily mean the shutter is stuck at an end position. It may be stuck part way.

Possible causes

The shutter rails are blocked

What you can do

1Check that the fuses are intact
2Look for dirt, leaves or debris in the shutter rails and remove anything that is blocking movement
3If you have diagnostic equipment: read out active fault codes in the grille shutter module (AGM) and deal with them first
4If you have diagnostic equipment: activate the shutter and check that it moves smoothly between open and closed
5If the shutter still does not move freely, have a workshop check the rails and the shutter
