What does this fault code mean?
The ECM controls the shutter in the grille through the active grille shutter module (AGM). The code is set when the supply voltage to the AGM is too low, and The causes are a poorly charged battery or corroded connecting leads.
Possible causes
- A poorly charged battery or corroded connecting leads
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Check the battery terminals and connections for corrosion and loose contacts
- 3If you have diagnostic equipment: read the battery voltage in live data with the engine running
- 4Clear the code and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 5If the battery or the connections are suspect, have a workshop test the battery and charging system
Symptoms you may notice1
- Fuel consumption is abnormally high
What the fault can affect1
- The cooling fan speed is set by a calculated value and may be somewhat higher than usual, depending on outside and engine temperature and A/C pressure
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
