What does this fault code mean?
The ECM constantly checks its own RAM memory. The code is set on an internal fault in the module, and it is diagnosed with the ignition on.
Possible causes
- The ECM software is faulty
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Clear the code and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 3If you have diagnostic equipment: read the fault status with the ignition on and see whether the fault is active
- 4If the fault returns, have a workshop check the control module software and reload it if needed
- 5If the fault remains after that, have a workshop replace the engine control module (ECM)
