What does this fault code mean?
The ECM has recorded a fault in the supervision software, meaning the software that checks the module's internal functions. The code is set when an internal fault is recorded. The fault may come from the software or from a damaged module.
Possible causes
- Damaged ECM
- Poorly charged battery or corroded connection cables
- Damaged software in the ECM
What you can do
- 1Read the code with the ignition on and note whether it is active right now
- 2Check that the battery is charged and that the battery terminals and earth connections are tight
- 3Check that the connectors at the ECM are tight and free from corrosion
- 4If the fault comes back, have a workshop reload the software in the ECM. If that does not help, the module needs replacing
