What does this fault code mean?
The ECM monitors the fuel system and its components. The code is set when the signal from the injectors is wrong with the engine running. It is a general signal fault code and does not state a more specific fault type.
Possible causes
- Damaged injectors, or injectors of the wrong type
What you can do
- 1Read the code with the ignition on and note whether it is active right now
- 2Check that the battery is charged and that the battery terminals and earth connections are tight and clean
- 3Disconnect the connector at the ECM and use a multimeter to check that the injector wiring has no short to earth or to other wires
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: activate the injectors one at a time and listen for each one working
- 5If the fault comes back, have a workshop replace any damaged injectors or injectors of the wrong type

- The car feels weak and lacks power, especially when pulling away from a standstill
- The engine hesitates, surges or runs roughly during acceleration or deceleration
- The engine hesitates, surges or runs roughly at constant speed
- The problems may be present all the time or only now and then
