What does this fault code mean?
The code is an internal system fault in the fuel injection. The ECM sees that the signal from the injectors is wrong with the engine running, and this can be caused by damaged injectors or injectors of the wrong type.
Possible causes
- Damaged injectors, or injectors of the wrong type
What you can do
- 1Read the code and note whether it is active right now
- 2Check that the battery has enough charge and that the connectors at the ECM are tight
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the injector wiring is not shorted to earth and has no contact with other wires
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: activate the injectors one at a time and check that each one operates
- 5If the fault comes back, have a workshop replace the injectors that are damaged or of the wrong type

- The engine hesitates, surges or runs roughly during acceleration or deceleration
- The engine hesitates, surges or runs roughly at constant speed
