What does this fault code mean?
The ECM has recorded a general memory fault in its internal memory. The code is set when the module finds an internal fault, and the fault can stop the engine from starting.
Possible causes
- Damaged ECM
What you can do
- 1Read the code with the ignition on and note whether it is active right now
- 2Check that the battery is charged and that the battery terminals and earth connections are tight and clean
- 3Check that the connectors at the ECM are tight and free from corrosion
- 4Have a workshop check that the engine control module has current software, and replace it if the fault remains
