What does this fault code mean?
The ECM has a watchdog and safety function that monitors the module itself. The code is set when the module detects an internal fault, or when a fuel cut-off has been requested wrongly. The module can request a fuel cut-off to protect the engine when a fault occurs.
Possible causes
- Damaged ECM
What you can do
- 1Read the code and note whether it is active right now
- 2Check that the battery is charged and that the connectors at the ECM are tight and clean
- 3Check the wiring to the ECM for chafing, pinched sections and loose clips
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop replace the engine control module
