What does this fault code mean?
The ECM watches the current to the fuel flow control valve, measured by an internal A/D converter. The code is set when the signal from the control valve is too high, and it applies while the engine is running.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to voltage
- Damaged fuel flow control valve
- If ECM-P060B21 is also stored: signal wire shorted to earth
- If ECM-P060B29 is also stored: the control valve may be sticking, and there may be water or dirt in the fuel system
What you can do
- 1Read the code with the engine running and note whether it is active right now
- 2If you have a multimeter: check that the signal wire to the fuel flow control valve is not shorted to voltage or earth
- 3Check that the connectors at the control valve and the ECM are tight and clean
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop replace the fuel flow control valve if it is damaged
