What does this fault code mean?
The ECM watches the current to the fuel flow control valve, measured by an internal A/D converter. The code is set when the signal from the control valve is invalid, meaning it cannot be used, and it applies with the engine running.
Possible causes
- The control valve may be sticking, and there may be water or dirt in the fuel system
- If ECM-P060B22 is also stored: signal wire shorted to voltage or a damaged fuel flow control valve
- If ECM-P060B21 is also stored: signal wire shorted to earth
What you can do
- 1Read the code with the engine running and note whether it is active right now
- 2If you have a multimeter: check that the signal wire to the fuel flow control valve is not shorted to earth or voltage
- 3Check that the connectors at the control valve and the ECM are tight and clean
- 4If the valve is sticking, have a workshop check the fuel system and replace the control valve
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
