What does this fault code mean?
The ECM has recorded a data memory fault. Some current values do not agree with their complement values, so the engine speed and torque are limited. Cruise control and idle are also affected.
Possible causes
- Damaged ECM
What you can do
- 1Read the code and note whether it is active right now
- 2Check the battery charge and that the battery terminals and earth connections are tight and clean
- 3Check that the connectors at the ECM are tight and free from corrosion
- 4If the fault comes back, have a workshop replace the engine control module
Symptoms you may notice4
- Malfunction indicator lamp comes on
- Maximum engine speed is lower than normal
- Cruise control does not work at all
- Idle is uneven
