What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named an electrical fault, it applies to a fault in the supervision software of the ECM. The code is set when the module finds the fault. The cause may be the software or the module itself.
Possible causes
- Fault in the software
- Internal fault in the ECM
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and check whether it returns during a road test
- 2Check that the battery is charged and that the battery terminals and earth connections are tight
- 3If the fault comes back, have a workshop reload the software in the ECM. If that does not help, the module needs replacing
