What does this fault code mean?
The ECM registers that the fuel injection has been limited, and the code is set when this happens with the engine running. The fault is a wrong calculation, and the cause may lie in the turbo control, the fuel control or the software.
Possible causes
- Fault in the turbo control
- If ECM-P061162 is also stored: fault in the fuel control
- If ECM-P061164 is also stored: fault in the software
What you can do
- 1Any other fault codes in the ECM should be dealt with first
- 2Check that the hoses between the air flow meter and the turbo are intact and secure, and look for air leaks
- 3Check that the hoses between the turbo and the inlet pipe are intact and secure, and look for air leaks
- 4Look for clear fuel leaks in the fuel system
- 5If the fault comes back, have a workshop check the turbo control and the engine control module
Symptoms you may notice4
- The car feels weak and lacks power, especially when pulling away from a standstill
- The engine hesitates, surges or runs roughly during acceleration or deceleration
- The engine hesitates, surges or runs roughly at constant speed
- The problems may be present all the time or only now and then
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
