What does this fault code mean?
The ECM has limited the fuel injection, and the code is set with the engine running when the module registers it. The fault concerns a signal that is not plausible, and the cause may be the software, the turbo control or the fuel control.
Possible causes
- Fault in the software
- If ECM-P061161 is also stored: fault in the turbo control
- If ECM-P061162 is also stored: fault in the fuel control
What you can do
- 1First deal with any other fault codes in the ECM
- 2Check the hoses in the intake between the air flow meter and the turbo for cracks and loose clamps
- 3Check the hoses between the turbo and the inlet pipe for cracks and loose clamps
- 4Have a workshop reload the software in the ECM, and replace it if the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice4
- The car feels weak and lacks power
- The engine hesitates, surges or runs roughly during acceleration or deceleration
- The engine hesitates, surges or runs roughly at constant speed
- The problems may be present all the time or only now and then
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
