What does this fault code mean?
When there is a collision risk, the engine control module provides brake support using signals from the forward sensing module (FSM). The fault is set when the central electronic module (CEM) does not allow the engine torque to be lowered. The code is set first in the CEM or FSM and then in the engine control module, and it can only be cleared once the root fault has been remedied.
Possible causes
- Fault in the forward sensing module (FSM)
- Fault in the central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1There is no separate fault tracing for this code. Start by tracing the control module where the fault was first registered, either the FSM or the CEM
- 2The code can only be cleared once the root fault is remedied and its own code is cleared, so deal with the root fault first
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the fault status in the FSM and the CEM and see which one is active
- 4If the fault remains after the repair: have a workshop handle the fault tracing in the CEM and FSM
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
