What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module receives pre-pump status over CAN. The fault code is set when a pre-pump fault occurs together with a wrong fuel pressure. The code may be linked to other faults in the fuel system, in the central electronic module (CEM) or in the CAN network, and the root fault should then be found first.
Possible causes
- A fault in the fuel system, where the other fuel system fault codes are traced first
- Fault in the central electronic module (CEM)
- Fault related to the CAN network
- Fault codes stored at the same time: ECM-P06291D, ECM-P06291C or ECM-U010900
What you can do
- 1There is no separate fault tracing for this code. Start by tracing the fault codes in the CEM and the engine control module
- 2Check that the connectors and wiring to the pre-pump and to the CAN network are secure
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the status of the fault codes after the repair, and check that the fault is no longer active once the diagnosis is complete
- 4Clear the fault code only after the root fault is remedied and the root fault's code is cleared
- 5If the fault remains: have a workshop trace the CEM and the CAN network

- The engine lacks power, especially when pulling away from standstill
- The engine does not start, sometimes or all the time
- The engine hesitates, surges or runs jerkily during acceleration, sometimes or all the time
- The engine stalls during deceleration, at steady speed or while driving
