What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module receives pre-pump information over CAN. Although the fault code is named for incorrect current, the condition is a fault on the pre-pump occurring at the same time as an incorrect fuel pressure. The code may be linked to other faults in the fuel system, the CEM or the CAN network, and the root fault should be found first.
Possible causes
- A fault in the fuel system, where the other fuel system fault codes are traced first
- Fault in the central electronic module (CEM)
- Fault related to the CAN network
- Fault codes stored at the same time: ECM-P062912, ECM-P06291C or ECM-U010900
What you can do
- 1There is no separate fault tracing for this code. Start with the fuel system fault codes in the CEM and the engine control module
- 2Check that the connectors to the pre-pump and to the fuel system control module are secure and free from oxidation
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the fault status after the repair and check that it is no longer active once the diagnosis is complete
- 4Clear the fault code only once the root fault is remedied and the root fault's code is cleared
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop trace the CEM and the CAN network

- The engine lacks power, especially when pulling away from standstill
- The engine does not start, sometimes or all the time
- The engine hesitates, surges or runs jerkily during acceleration, deceleration or steady speed
- The engine stalls while driving, sometimes or all the time
