What does this fault code mean?
Although the fault code is named for an overvoltage, the condition is the self-test of the automatic engine shut-off function. The fault code is set when the control module detects that the function is faulty, and the fault can show up as poor performance, hesitation or a warning lamp that behaves abnormally.
Possible causes
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1With the ignition on, wait a moment and read the code's status
- 2After the test, the fault should no longer be active
- 3Check that the fuses are intact
- 4If the fault remains: have a workshop replace the engine control module
Symptoms you may notice4
- The check engine lamp lights or behaves abnormally
- The engine lacks power, even when pulling away from standstill
- The engine surges or hesitates, especially during acceleration or deceleration
- Text message and warning symbol in the display
