What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module monitors the temperature of the exhaust gases and compares it with a calculated value. The code is set when the reading moves too far from the calculated figure, and in this case the signal is too low. This can be due to a damaged temperature sensor or poor contact at the sensor.
Possible causes
- Damaged temperature sensor
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors
- The same signal fault as fault code ECM-P062B22 refers to, that is, the signal too high
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2With the ignition off, check the connector at the temperature sensor for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the exhaust temperature in live data when the engine is cold and again when it has warmed up, and see whether it changes smoothly
- 4If the fault remains: have a workshop check the temperature sensor and its wiring
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
