What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module supplies voltage to the injectors through two integrated high-performance end stages, and that voltage is well above the battery voltage. The control module checks the signal as injection takes place. The fault code is set when it detects an incorrect signal in the injector circuit, for example from a short circuit.
Possible causes
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
- Short circuit in the circuit for the injectors
What you can do
- 1With a diagnostic tool: have the control module run its built-in test for this code and read the result
- 2Look for injector wires that may have been short-circuited to each other
- 3Check that the fuses for the engine control are intact
- 4If the fault remains: have a workshop decide whether the engine control module needs replacing
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
