What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module monitors the exhaust gas temperature and detects a signal that is faulty, in this case above the permitted range. The code is linked to ECM-P062B84, which concerns the signal below the permitted range. The fault can be due to a damaged temperature sensor or poor contact at the sensor.
Possible causes
- Damaged temperature sensor
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
What you can do
- 1Check that the relevant fuses are intact
- 2Check the connector at the temperature sensor for looseness, oxidation and contact resistance
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the exhaust temperature in live data with the engine cold and then warm, and see whether it changes smoothly
- 4Have a workshop check the temperature sensor and its wiring if the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
