What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module checks the current signal of the injectors and compares it with the requested value. The fault code is set when the current signal is too low compared with what is requested. The cause may be poor contact at the injector connectors or a damaged engine control module.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, look at the injector connectors and check that they are secure, without contact resistance or oxidation
- 2Have a workshop measure the internal resistance of the injectors to rule out a damaged injector
- 3If the fault remains: have a workshop check the engine control module
Symptoms you may notice3
- The engine does not start, sometimes or all the time
- The engine is hard to start and the starter motor cranks slowly, sometimes or all the time
- The check engine lamp lights or behaves abnormally
